My kids and I are careless enough slobs so that if I don't do something, my upholstery WILL be irreparably worn and dirty five years from now. Simply by getting in and out of the car, I have eventually worn a hole in every car I've owned for years without seat covers.

My goals are to:

1) Not risk my passengers' lives by interfering with air bag function.
2) Protect my upholstery.
3) Hopefully, not spend hundreds of dollars.
4) Not be compulsively tidy, prohibit every crumb, and clean constantly--just normal care and cleaning.

Are these impossible, mutually exclusive goals, am I doomed, or is there a solution?

I am running into problems with my seat cover install. I found out (to my surprise) that my Versa has airbags in the front seat.

Not sure what to do about it.

Well, I found at least one family of inexpensive seat covers that seems to claim to work with airbags. Although they are listed on amazon.com, I cannot figure out the manufacturer and the spelling and grammar on some of the product description pages reminds me of bad spam and does not inspire confidence. Does anyone know how accountable seat cover sellers and manufacturers are to their claims of being "airbag ready," or if those are just weasel words that don't really hold them to safety standards? I do not trust them.

This is the search link.

autoanything.com sells Coverking seat covers in multiple styles and colors that are manufactured here in California. You might explore them as a possibility. I only know one person that has actually dealt with them, not for a Versa, but he is very happy with the product.

I bought a set off ebay... they didn't fit correctly so please take care if going that route. Many seat covers will state if they work with in-seat airbags.

The covers I bought were made for the Tiida. They fit tightly over the cushions. Once I get them fully installed, I will upload the pictures.

jcwhitney.com sells cover kings in a couple different styles/covers. I have not bought them, but looks like they go for $150/$170 for a full set.

It asks you about your air bags, so I am assuming that the covers are setup for them.
