My car has just recently started running rough. I have a 1995 Nissan 240sx with a SR20DET redtop. It has a steady idle but feels like its bogging but no drop in idle. When you press on the gas it bogs for a second and just feels like it lacking power. I think the TPS senor may be causing this. I checked the compression and its 125 across the board. I figure the head gasket may slowly be going but its holding strong for now. It smells like it is running rich. Could be o2 sensor? I do regular maintenance. Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Lots of vegas locals with 240's. We're having a BBQ this weekend @ sunset park and I'm sure at least a few of us (myself included) can help with the troubleshooting

could be your o2, also could be your spark plugs. Pull em and see the story they tell. *sits and listens to spark plug telling it's story lol*

MSASKIN- i wish i was still in Vegas but I am stationed in Georgia right now, I see you post on LVDR once in awhile. Hows the gt25/40r feel..i was looking into a similiar turbo.

180fan- I checked the plugs, just normal wear i replaced them a 1000 miles ago with NGK bkr6es11's. If it is the 02 sensor wouldnt it be spitting codes and how do i test to see if it is the 02 sensor?

If the o2 sensor was that far out of whack the ECU will throw a code, but if it's slowly dying it won't.

I'd suggest getting some electrical contact cleaner (or brake cleaner, whatever) and spraying down the MAF to clean it out first. That fixed ALL my roughness/hesitation problems when I Was still running a MAF.

The GT25 is real nice. Just getting it all tuned with the AEM now. Feels pretty good at 8psi (external gate spring pressure)

One of the nuts on the exhaust is missing causing a slight exhaust leak, could that cause the above mentioned problems?

Nope, not really.
