I've been working on my car and finally hooked up the knock sensor and now it runs really good. But the Engine warms up really quick should I be alarmed? The temp is at normal and doesn't go pass that but gets there quick.

Now I just have to get a new turbo elbow to properly connect to the downpipe, I got one from SSautochrome (the cast replacement) but the o2 hole is too big so it won't fit in there. I've heard that some tried their HKS style one and didn't fit too well either. Any of them on ebay that fit well?

Heres a pic of my engine.

Don't be worried about the temp. Mine does it to. It's nice in the winter!

What do you mean that the O2 hole is too big and it won't fit in there? Please elaborate...

I have the ssautochrome cast one... my o2 sensor fit just fine in the hole (after I used the spacer that comes on the stock o2 sensor hole)... are you sure you aren't trying to put the o2 sensor in the EGR hole?

i have the same cast SSauto turbo elbow. i used a spark plug defouler. i cut it in half then welded it into the O2 spot.

Oh I guess that spacer was able to be taken off? I thought that it was suppose to be on there. I'll try taking it off tomorrow. is it still the same rules apply for the spacer since it has the o2 sensor on it (lefty loosy, righty tighty)?

If you can't get it out, just go to Nissan and pick on up for a Pulsar or a KA, They're all the same and they're pretty cheap.

youre right.mechanically, its in the perfect place. up high on the block, centered, on the intake side (not much excessive heat)

but, with that goes the impossible factor, get a 10 year old to reach in there. its the only way (if you dont have kids, youre out of luck, as it would probably be considered 'wierd' to borrow somebodys kid to reach a sensor

on the plus side, if you somehow get the plug disconnected from teh sensor (i managed it eventually) then just use some shielded wire

i reccomend putting a quick connector farther up on the harness as well (remember to have 2 connections, one for signal, one for ground on teh shielding)i did it, and it makes life easier if you want to pull the engine again

CJ

EDIT> and yeah, jack your car up (shop lift FTW) and roll under the car, behind the engine. with a shop light, youll be able to see the knock sensor. look for green. above the oil filter and a little back, thats it. and its a bish to get the connector off (out of the 3 ive tried, ive broken 2)

i hooked it up and it still throws the code for it..

oh, and its pretty easy to get to if you just remove that intake manifold bracket ... 5 bolts... the plug does suck to remove though
