I've got a 89 240 with a dohc KA-T. I have altima electric fans and they're controlled by a temperature switch.

For some reason my car runs beyond cold. I drove it 200 miles yesterday and only once did the temperatre gauge even move off the bottom of C.

I thought i was the gauge at first, but I have an oil temp gauge as well and that is posted at the bottom as well.

On my 200 mile drive, I pulled over at one point to make sure my fans weren't on and making everything colder and they weren't on.

any suggestions on how to make my car run HOTTER?

check your thermostat, it might be fully open, but even then you'd still get it warm.

hopefully neither of your gauges is broken.

Thermostat go!!! Think about it with out a thermo true the car would warm up slower but it would do that because there is a higher volume of collant going in so it warms up slower and cools down a lil faster. But with a stock open thermo, true the coolant does go in but that thermor is still in obstruction of the flow so it flows in much slower. Check your radiator hoses, I belive the top one should be cooler then the bottom one. If im not mistaken the bottom one should actually be pretty warm to the touch.

the top should be warm, the bottom should be cold, due to the ka bein reverse flow.(as in coolant flows from top to bottom)

mine did that too, I think that it was gauge, cause mine said temp was good and I blew a headgasket when my temp said I was perfect, and a radiator hose was disconnected and had NO fluid in it! I gotta fix that when my car get shipped 3600 miles to me

Is there anyway to check to see if the gauge is working correctly? I've always wondered if something was wrong with mine because it's never shown hot, even without a fan shroud or a/c fan.

Now....question.What are the effects of running a car as such temperature?
