k guys car idles bad, the engine just shakes, sputters. when i give it more than 25% throttle, it does this hesitate/stuttor thing, shift gear, same thing.

now i DO need a new throttle position sensor, but from reading the FSM that isn't the only thing wrong with my car...right? just put a new greddy fmic and bov in, all piping is secure and tight. timing set at 15 degrees. got a koyo rad, walboro etc.

there was some 87 octane gas in the tank(almost a half tank) filled the rest with 94 octane and it ran a little better. reset the ecu just incase of the crappy gas...didn't work.

any help would be awesome

forgot to mention i have a new sohc MAF with a hks intake(from my old KA). the voltage from MAF to the ECU was good, .8 i believe. im no expert but that would mean the wiring from the MAF to the ECU is good?

Ok I was trying to find some logical relationship between the pinouts...letters or wire color wasn't working...

SO..I tried testing the resistance betweent the MAF pinouts, this is what I found:

SR -B->C 8 ohmsB->D 18 ohmsC->D 1.8 ohms

KA (sohc) - A->B 11 ohmsA->C 18 ohmsB->C 1.8 ohms

So the relationship is the same, just they made the SR B,C,D instead of A,B,C

I wired it up this way, and runs great, no more smoke!!!"

can someone explain this in a very simple way? i think my wires are color to color

There are a couple things you should check. First of all, can it rev past 2500? If so, then it might not be the MAFS because that's what usually happens. You'll hit like a rev limit at around 2500.

Also do you have a boost gauge? Does it look like it's bog/hesitate when the boost goes to a certain amount? That would usually indicate a boost leak in your piping, go over that very well.

When i used a SOHC KA MAFS, i just matched up the colors on the plug. Also, have you checked the timing? That could also cause bogging and lack of power if it's too advanced and causing knock or too retarded and not burning all the fuel.

so i replaced my TPS, it ran a little better, still does the whole bog/hesitate thing when i go WOT. just wondering should i reset my ecu? will that make a difference?
