hello, for starters i did use the search button before posting this but if i missed something useful please feel free to let me know. Ok, so i have a 95 240sx base model, ka24de, 5 spd, etc. etc. now up until recently everything was going fine and smooth. However, as of lately the car recieves no power to the gauges, headlights, wipers, nothing! Now its been pretty obvious that the motor runs on battery power alone. i bought a brand new alternator, ran an extra ground cable from the alt. to the body, re-grounded the battery, checked my main fuses, and still no such luck. my next step was going to be to run another ground from the starter and see if that did the trick. Any info on this problem or any related help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i had the same problem with my 95, my issue was that there is a small electrical connector that plugs up to a spade connector on the positive battery terminal that if it slightly pulls out then all my interior lights and gauges wouldnt work. I had to put a brace between the battery and bumper support and switched the connector from where you tighten the terminal to the battery to where the cable is pinched on the terminal.hope this helps.

well being in wisconsin, rust is a pretty common theme, i just finished patching up the floorboard. the ecu is all connected. i'll double check it though. as for the pigtail connector on the positive terminal i'll double check it. i got some new terminal connectors i've been looking for a reason to put on. however the -15 wind chill and lack of a garage is slowing me down a tad lol

Hey i have a 95 240 sx with an S14 SR20DET in it. i did all the wiring myself along with converting it from a auto to manual. The cause sounds like a bad ground. Try checking the lower transmission harness grounds. Also try checking all your connections to your engine bay fuse box. The FSM can be very useful in these situations. As for the other posts, it wouldn't be your ECM plug lose because that would cause the opposite to happen. Most everything would work except your car wouldn't run. Same for the F4 plug. Check and make sure your M5 and M57 grounds (which are the grounds under your side panels down by your floorboard by your ECM and fuse box) are all secure. These are the grounds for most everything you say is not working. Maybe your feet kicked them off or something. Hope this helps good luck with your issue.

If it runs the ECU is getting both + and - fine.

Sounds like ignition power relays. Make sure ALL fuses are good, and then test the relays for power in, power out, coil power and ground.
