what are you using for tuning?

due to the atmospheric bov, your car goes too rich whenever you release the throttle(makin metered air not go into the pistons), this is if your tune isn't setup for such bov.(safc has a setting for this, i believe you have to tell ethalpy or JWT if you are running open or recirc)

or if you are running the afc you need to mess with the decel air function thats what happend to me . here is what to do :

"when the car is completely cool start it up. have the safc mointoring throttle %, air flow, and rpms. have the engine at 1000rpms and write down the air flow. then have the engine at 2000rpms and write down the throttle % and air flow.

now go to the dec. air settings. the THR setting is the throttle % you documented at 2000rpms. the NE1 setting is the air flow you had at 1000rpms. the NE2 setting is the air flow you had at 2000rpms. this will get you very close to the settings you need. may not be perfect but very close. this will allow you to run an atmospheric bov without stumbling between gears""

thats what I did and no problems since......

btw thats from ka-t.org

The JGS is a by=pass valve that is engineered to be recirculated back to the turbo inlet pipe. The open atmo. attachment is for people who can clamp the decel injector pulsewidth IE have S-AFC.

My experience with surge is that the MAF will meter air going in and going out so you will have a rich condition if you are surging. Try putting a dedicated vacuum line straight to the bypass valve if you havent already.

Surge combined with your open atmo. attachment will cause your engine to run very rich and stall.
