car running w/o oil press. sensor

i noticed when i was removing the alternator that theres a sensor under the oil filter( oil pressure sensor? ) and it has 2 wires coming out of it, one of those is ripped in half, also directly across from it theres a sensor atop a metal fluid line ( oil line, fuel line... ) that looks like it connects to it somehow, anyway the red wire that goes into the 2nd senor is pulled out too. can this affect the performance/driveability of the car?
