Hey guys! Im new to these forums! I recently bought a 1986 Nissan 300zx turbo on halloween. Turbo was working great and so was the car. My car has been having problems recently. First the turbo would spool, but I would get barley any boost. Now the turbo isn't spooling altogether. I think I may have seized the turbo cause I was running the car on low oil when I first bought it.
There is another problem that has come into play. The car is resistant when accelerating. I'll be flooring it and it would accelerate slowly then accelerate normal then go slow again. Thought it was the clutch slipping, but it isn't. Pulled some codes from the ECU
#21- ignition switch
#24- neutral switch
#31- air conditioning
#41- fuel temperature sensor
#11- crank angle sensor
#13- cylinder temperature sensor
#14- car speed sensor
Im not sure what to do. It won't pass emissions because the engine isn't running right. Any help guys? I would highly appreciate it!!! Thanks

Code 31 is normal. No need to worry about it. If you didn't start the vehicle and drive it (per FSM), I can see it throwing the 14 and 24 codes.

Running a turbo on low oil can seize it. If the turbo is seized, it will run poorly (with the turbine slowing down airflow and not giving enough air to the engine due to the turbines not spinning). This can damage the engine.

If the turbo is shot, I'd suggest going with the Holset HX35. They are cheap (about 1/2 the price of the Z turbo (both reman)) and will allow for more boost than the stock turbo. Do some research about mating it to the VG30E to learn if that is the route you want to go.

Check and clean all the connectors involving all those sensors and a couple are likely to drop ff. the cas code can cause the car to not run, the cas is in the distributor and you replace the whole thing if cleaning the contacts doesn't help.
The holset is a lot more turbo than you need especially without adding an intercooler. The fit for a Z31 turbo is tight I recommend buying one made to fit the stock turbine housings or having one machined to fit it.
