Just got my 240 back from the shop...again. Long story short, I had a complete rebuild. The head gasket didnt seat well and shortly blew. While waiting for the shop to get the head gasket replaced, my Koyo alum. rad. came in along with my Fal dual 210 fan.

When driving it today the temp gauge went up to the halfway point. This for some reason is the highest it will go. I know this from when my head gasket blew and overheated the car. The only way i knew then it got hot was the overflow.

Having read some of the other overheating threads I plan on replacing the thermostat and getting a new radiator cap. In the mean time anyone have anyother suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

prolly a dumb suggestion, but bleed the air out on the intake

do you have a cooling pannel?, if not get one for your top(anywhere from $50-200 bucks) and you can make one for your bottom!......by the way what motor do you have and what year is your 240?....I have a 91 hb with a RB25 and a Koyo radiator but I only have a single fan, anyway my car is running hot too!! I plan on getting the cooling pannels and the FAL fans next month, when I tear the body and motor down for the body shop........do you have any pics of the Koyo radiator and fans installed??...if so can i see?................here is the top cooling pannel( carbon fiber)

Air in the system is most likely the problem. Either jack up the front end or use a funnel to get the coolant liquid higher than the rest of the engine. Also use the bleeder screw.

Yes definately change the thermostat (do this anytime you change the coolant), it can get stuck too easily.

Also I'd recommend a water temp gauge, the stock one sucks, and usually by the time you see its even a little hot, then it is way too hot already.

I'd say you probably got air in the lines too. Theres no way it should over heat with a koyo and a fan if its setup properly.
