car revs but doesn't go.

my car idles fine but when i gas the car it goes slowly then the car just starts to rev and more then going??????? does anyone know wat is wrong.

sounds like it's the clutch or your a/t is slipping bad... kinda hard to say without more info

sounds like clutch. if you smell something burning when this happens, that's gotta be it. it's weird for it to come on all of a sudden, if that's the case. usually it starts slipping just a bit and gets progressively worse until you get to the stage you're at.

tell us what kind of car you have first, id say its the clutch but we need more info

It's probably your clutch. When was it changed last? You've probably been driving with it in pretty poor condition and it just crapped out. Or you changed it recently and didn't break it in proper.
