Got an odd one here for you guys..

I was driving my car home from school, cruising at 45.. All of the sudden, The car stops responding to gas.. no shaking.. no noticable drop in speed, it just stops taking gas, so I look down, and all the idiot lights are on like I've stalled, I push in the clutch and RPMs drop to 0 like i stalled..

I repeat though.. no shaking.. not bucking, just the car turns off.. If i pull over, and immediatly try to restart it.. nothing. It would crank forever but not turn over. I had to wait about 3 - 5 min until I could crank it when it would turn over.

I checked my MAFS plug, Drop resistor plug, Initor chip plug, and CAS plug to see if they were good and in, no visible vacuum leaks.. If you know whats up let me know.. Im gonna go out and pull codes in a sec.. ill post up

Thanks alot, Ian

edit: just got back from pulling codes.. 55.. all clear captain.. wtf is wrong with my baby

Possible fuel pump or fuel pump issues or possible ignition failure (Intermittent ignitor). Other than that dude, we're out on a limb with this one.

The fuel pump is fairly quick to test, when you turn the key to ON do you hear it priming and THEN shutting off?If you hear nothing then your pump is either fried OR isn't getting power.

If that works then maybe you're not getting spark, pull a coil and see.

so i think i found out what the problem is.. 99% sure atleast.. I was entering my car to give my girlfriend a ride home after school and tried to crank it.. no go, wouldnt turn over. So i popped the hood to see if I noticed anything.. The electric fans werent running but my car was in the ON position..

So i figured it was a blown fuel pump fuse.. since the fans are wired in that way.. no big deal.. pull it out, pop one in right? wrong.. the old fuse had melted due to the wire from the electric fans.. so i basically had to pry that **** out and drive home without fans.. needless to say it got really hot.

But i fixed the wiring and put a new fuse in so its all good.. Thanks for the help guys!
