when i dont let my car warm up ( here in cold wisconsin)and start driving, come to a stop, mainly when i brake hard sometimes, the car will kill. it will start right up when i turn her over. once the car is warmed up its fine...got the car back from the shop a few months ago for a transmission problem in which they fixed the problem of the car being stuck in gear ( yea yea its auto).

Let your car warm up EVERYTIME. ESPECIALLY where you live.. You dont build up enough oil pressure = Snapped Timing Chain!

I agree with KurbKiller and would like to add that you may want to check for vacum leaks. When the car is warm does the idle change when you step on the brakes? If so that is a sign of a vacum leak. Also be sure you are useing the proper oil for youo temperatures.
