car putters at 4000 rpm

ok my car starts to putter at 4000 when I accelerate fast, but if im just cruising it does fine. blk smoke spits out the exhaust when this happens. it does in normaly in 1st gear, second its good, then i might do it in thrid at times.mods are:Mods: blktop motor

Hmm, not sure....

Could possibly be something to do with fuel delivery, since it works fine when cruising, but if you try to get on it it putters.. Almost sounds like its not getting the fuel, or the fuel it is getting is dirty. Someone else might have some better ideas though.

I see you have bigger injectors, what about your fuel pump? Stock, or upgrade?

its a upgrade.... i was thinking if i knew how to controller my AFC that might be able to work. thanks alot tho.. ne more ideas

you may want to use your afc to take fuel out at that rpm..you are obviously getting too much fuel (hence the black smoke) If you hadnt mentioned that you have an afc that you werent 100% sure of how to work then i would tell you to do an injector test..but right now i think maybe you should figure out first if you have your afc set correctly (if you want to do an injector test to make sure thats not it before you go messing with your afc then pull the spark plugs and if one or two are quite a bit blacker than the others then that spark plugs injector is probably sticking open and putting in too much fuel which will cause richness and misfiring.
