My steering wheel became stiff so I added power steering fluid. All of a sudden my car stated pulling to the right (I have to use extreme force to keep the car wheel straight) while I am driving. I put the car in park and pressed on the gas and the wheel started turning right. I also noticed a lot of brake dust on the passenger side front tire. The car is a 96 Infiniti I30. Any ideas?

Sounds like your caliper is locked up. Take that front right wheel off, and check out the caliper and rotor. Sounds like there's a good chance your caliper is toasted.

First of all, Welcome to NICOclub!

I have moved this post to the proper forum, so you can get a better answer to your question.

It sounds like you have more than one issue here, which I would say that the brake dust and some of the pulling could be caused by a bad brake caliper.

The wheel turning by itself while in park doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I would say that would be either a bad power steering pump or a bad rack and pinion. I would say the power steering pump would be the more likely thing, since you mentioned having to add fluid and the steering wheel being stiff.

I'll let some of the more experienced guys chime in though, good luck!

Thank you A33 for moving the post to the proper forum.

Yes, the wheel turning to the right while in park is strange. The harder I pressed on the gas the more the wheel turned.

Thanks again for your feedback!
