Ok, I have a 91 hatch, KA24DE. 160,xxx miles. A/T.

The idle has been somewhat rough lately, don't know if i need a new fuel pump, or if it's my MAF, or what. When the car starts, it'll drop down to 700-800 RPM and bogs around, only 1 case of the car actually dying. Sometimes when I'm at a stop sign or red light, I can feel the car's idle dropping a bit when I step on the accelerator. I have yet to replace my distributor cap or the rotors under the hood, so I'm thinking thats the issue. Thought it was the air filter, but that only made it better for a day. Once the car warms up the idle will be better for most of the day, but sometimes from off to on the idle drops down again for a bit.

Also, I've been hearing a very strange noise coming from my driver side wheel. It sounds like someones taking a key to a smooth surface metal plate and just scratching it. My guess is that something is rubbing on my Rotor. The sound usually appears after I go over a bump, but after another bump, the sound will dissapear for a bit. I have KTS coilovers on the car, and I even thought maybe I blew the strut on the driver side. The first time the sound occured was after driving over some really rough bumps.

Any opinions and/or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure, but it may be your Idle air control valve? Should not be the MAF. (can always do the knock test on your MAF)
