car overheating after short drive. plz help

i left my house and headed to the gas station. when i turned into the gas station my car stalled out. i turned it back on and the temp gauge said 180 and before it was at like 100. so i went home and popped the hood and looked around. the exhaust manifold was hot as h**l. It was only a short drive. What could it be??

do you have a thermostat?

you need to go through the basics, i.e.(check your thermostat for sticking closed, check your rad. fan clutch for free spinning, flush your radiator system, and check your oil for mixing with antifreeze could be head gasket unfortunately. not in that exact order good luck

Like the post above, go through the basics.

Sounds kind of like a stuck Thermostat, but check everything else as well.

If your oil is milky, HG is done.
