Background:I just bought a 1990 2400cc 240sx today. It had sat for a while but was started occasionally. Picked it up today and besides the battery being dead, it started on the 3rd crank. Drove around for a bit and stopped at a friends house for a visit. Started the car and drove home. The front tires were bald so i switched them for some nice rubber and new rims. Car wouldnt start after that. Got it running after pulling the fule rail. Drove to get some gas and the car wouldnt start again. Tried pulling the rail again and it started. Parked the car and checked to see if it would start, nothing...
Technical:Car cranks over. Its got spark at the plugs. Fule is making it to the fule rail. Intake ducts are clean. Car starts only after the fule rail is removed and excess gas is allowed to drain. Once the car is running, it will stay running allthough there were a couple times where i thought it was going to stall.
My Thoughts:I know its getting spark and air so this leads me to believe its a fule issue. I pulled the line and turned on the car, there is plenty of gas making it to the rail. However, i dont know where the return goes or if there is a filter or vavle that might be cloged or stuck closed. When i remove the fule rail after the car has sat for a few minutes, there is still pressure in the line.
Your thoughts on this please
