The car ran fine for the past 3 years. Then when I was driving today the car just shuts off. I didn't hear the fuel pump so I assumed I blew a fuse. I looked and the fuses were fine. I bought a fuel pump put it in and still doesn't work test my old one and it works fine. By the way I have a 255 Walbro with install kit for sale now brand new. I check the relays fine. Everything seems fine. All it does is crank crank crank but doesn't start. I hooked the old pump up to a 12v source and the pump started and I tried to crank the car that way and still nothing. Please I need more ideas of what it can be.

Did it lock up? Did it drop from the certain RPM you were at to 0? Or was it like it just lost some electrical power somewhere?

I know my last 240 had an alternator problem and it would stumble and died once when I was at a redlight. . .

no I dont' think it locked up. the fuel pump doesn't cut on anymore even when I turn the key to "on" position the pump doesn't prime.

u said u checked the fuses but did u check the box by the stock battery, it has fuses for the fuel pump and ecu(eng cont) either one would make the fuel pump not come on. I would say you have a spark problem but u can't hear the fuel pump...

By the way I just destroyed a r32 v-dub and cobalt ss...sorry to thread jack but i gotta tell somebody.

Yeah I checked every fuse including the one inside the car and outside under the hood. I am so freaking confused.

Sucks 2 cars at once. Seems like the R32s are dropping like flies lately

5 dollars paypaled to whoever can help me fix this issue

Still very confused when I jump the wire and I hear the fuel pump going but when I crank the car it still won't start.

Throwing an engine code at you?

Does it turn over? Does it feel as if it is a battery issue? If so, whoop out the trusty voltometer, have a friend sit in car and tell him to turn the key. Find out what its reading, and I promise, you'll know if its bad.

Check the fuel filter, injectors, anything along those lines. Take the line off one end of fuel pump and hot wire it - see if it spits anything.

Thats all I really got for you for now - answer those questions for me and I'm sure if I can't narrow it down some what, someone will be able to.

Is there a chance you fried the ECU circuitry?

ummm that exact thing happened to me, if your ecu checks out 55.. i bet it is fried.. mine wouldn't turn the fuel pump on .. that's it.. it just died going down the road.. weird, i swapped fuel pumps and nothing.. didn't even hear it prime... sucks but try swapping in a friends sr ecu and see if it fixes the problem!

55 Is the all clear code. I would open up the ECU and see if you did fry something before you put in another ECU. Otherwise you may fry that ECU as well. These usually burn out due to wiring problems.

usually bad ecu's will register the all clear code.. I have had that problem before.I swapped my ecu and the car fired right up. go figure.

post something in the regional forums of your area and someone nearby could come to the rescue.
