I have a 90 N/a and i like up north and this past winter i stored it and did not drive it for 6 months. Today i started it for the first time and it was not running right, it was idling at 200-400 rpms it dies at idle sometimes, power was not 100%. It also sounds like a lifter tick or piston slap... please help with ideas? thanks

If I had to guess I'd say you are misfiring...lack of fuel pressure, or old gas would be the first things that come to mind...try "priming" your fuel - cycle the key on and off a few times before starting, so you can build up a little more pressure. Over time the pressure probably bled off and you might not have been getting gas to all 6 injectors.

Lifter tick should be expected when storing the car for half a year. The hydraulic lifters are 15-20+ years old...when they aren't put under pressure for an extended amount of time, the oil can make it's way out of the "lifter bodies." That's what makes your tick noise...there is air inside the lifter where there should be oil. After it runs for a few minutes (sometimes 10 or more) it should quiet down - oil pressure will help to fill the lifters with oil and get the air back out.
