I picked up a 240 in Florida just 2 weeks ago and it was running great. Today I was driving it and took a turn onto an empty road. I dropped it into 4th and tried to accelerate. It boosted up to 12psi fine and held there but I noticed it was bogging down and not pulling like it should. So I took it home and made sure everything was still connected. Everything looked fine and it idled normally. It also revved in neutral normally. No odd noises coming from the engine either.

Its been doing this all day. It will still get up to speed but it is alot slower accelerating.

Let me list the specs.

Any idea wtf this could be?

I was hoping it would be something as simple as a boost leak, but I just checked all my fittings and everything is in place.

Another thing... About an hour ago I took it for a spin on a long open road. I had it in fifth and floored it. It began to accelerate but at one point the engine cuttoff like I hit a rev limitter. I wasnt going over 90 so that isnt even possible. What could cause the engine to cuttoff like that?

Im thinking one of 2 things now. Im having a fuel delivery problem or my MAF is acting up.

Could be your fuel pump, mine was acting the same way. Found out the blue plug for the fuel pump in the trunk was shorting somehow, changed the plug (change pump also if it is stock), and relayed the pump straight to the battery using the hot wire for the fuel pump to trip the relay, and my car has not had the problem ever since, hope this helps.

I think my BOV might be leaking.

Your not supposed to be able to feel vaccuum through it, right?

no, your bov should be closed at idle. check the ground wire coming off the coil pack harness. while your at it, check the plugs, coilpacks terminals and the plugs to them. my ground came off and fried the coil pack plug on hte last cylinder. if not, then the mass is the next culprit. if thats fine id put a fuel press gauge on it to make sure its up, while im on the subject, i didnt see a fuel pump in your list of parts.....bad news.

good luck , keep troubleshooting.

Its closed at idle bet when I rev it just a little it you can feel the vaccuum.

Ill check the plugs tommorow.

And see if the ECU is throwing codes.

BTW fuel pump is a walbro 255. Still using the stock filter though. Ill upgrade to the 300zx filter next time im at an autostore.

Also, lately its been ticking like mad

To me it sounds like something under the valve cover. I was told it could be a lose rocker arm. But I have no idea.

It doesnt do it all the time just after its been run for a while or hard.

Also the engine has been cutting out alot when I come to a stop in town. I clutch in/neutral/and glide up to the stop and it will be dead.

And if thats not ****ing enough Im loosing coolant and its not ending up on my pavement.

Typical of a leak somewhere, especially if you are putting out alot of soot in your exhaust from unburnt fuel.

Raise your idle temperarily to help the stalling issue, you might want to compression check the motor if it feels to be running flat.
