CAR NOT RUNNING RIGHT, HELP!!

When I floor the pedal the cars rpm don't go over 4 rpms, it sounds like a vacuumm leak no check engine light is coming up, and i think it could be the mass air flow sensor, or maybe the cat is clogged, when the car runs on idle it is fine, only when i press the gas does it act up. Let me know what you think.

Dude stop writing in all caps, it sounds like your yelling.

First step is to retrieve a code from the ECU. The instructions are in one of the "sticky" threads at the top of the forum depending on your year.

See if the car spits out a code. It will dramtaically narrow the problem. Post it and we will help.

hey every one i am also experiencing the same problem. Only mine seems a bit worse. Its sluggish the hole time im driving as if the dame thing doesn’t know im pushing the gas. Extremely boggy I will floor it and I don’t move then 5-10 sec later it moves slowly then bam, im off still slow I might add and this occurs the hole time im driving. I haven’t been able to drive my car for 6 months because of this. If you guys have any idea what will get my 1993 j30 back on the road I would greatly appreciate it further more I have taken it to 6 different places including infiniti to have it checked and every one gave me a different answer I have come to realize that none of them know what the hell there talking about so all of you are most likely my only hope. They stated it could be a bad coil over , bad MAF, O2 sensor or vehicle has no vacuum. (hemmmmm. All seem to be guesses.) I don’t know if this will help any of you but there is no check engine light or any other lights on for that matter and infiniti could not get a reading off there computer at all. I look forward to all if any advice you may have Thanks.

How High does your rpm's go up? I found that my crank sensor was loose also. I had a very hard time trying to find the prob, if you have the dealer do any work, and it does not fix the problem, then i would not pay for it, and the dealer should be able to hook it up to a diag computer. Let me know some more info and i'll try to help you out. I would also check the cat, push the gas and feel the pressure out of the muffler, if it is weak to none it could be a cat problem. let me know.

Appreciate it. Here it goes, when the car is in neutral everything is just fine revs normal and sounds just fine. the moment you put it in any of the drive gears and push the pedal it barley revs up at all then moves a little bit and if you floor it you might be able to get the rpm,s up to about 3500 over time and then it like it finally changes gears now weather or not you floor it has no effect on when it changes gears it does it when it wants to (sorry im not trying to confuse you), And that continues out for the rest of the gears. there’s I bit of a gurgling sound wile pressing the pedal while in gear if that helps? I don’t know if this has any bearing on anything but my cruse control suddenly stop working as well. light to turn it on comes up but wont engage at 30 mph it starts to flicker and then it goes away? My after market alarm system was going hay wire before it stopped working all together it is still currently installed by the way around the time it started messing up maybe 2 weeks latter the prob in question came along. And again all the places I took it to stated the there system could not get a reading at all not a good one not a bad nothing came up error not found or something along those lines.If you have any other questions please let me know. Ill do my best to answer.Sorry im going to have to wait till allibit laiter for a frend to come over to test the flow out the pipe while in gear.

It maybe something to do with the wires of the alarm?? I'm thinking it has to due with the trans, maybe the sensor in the trans is going bad, check the trans fluid to see if it is dark or has a burning smell to it, or maybe it is low. good luck to ya
