I have a 99 qx4 with 160K on it. I notice the car is not level looking from the back. The driver side is about 2-3 inches lower when I measure from the ground to center of fender above rear wheel. I just swap out the rear shocks. They were all gone. I also measure the spring in the rear. But both of them are pretty much the same.

Any suggestion what else could cause the uneven body?

I also got the parts for front strut, I'm still waiting to get the strut mount, strut bearing, and boot cover from the local dealer. Anything else I should get for the front?

Thanks guys.

At that many miles its definitely your springs/coils whatever you prefer to call them, i changed mine out at 90k cause my rear end was sagging but i also lowered it.

A few months ago I noticed the same, driver side is lower by about 2", measured the same way as xnapajx did. If I park on a non-level surface, it could be the other way around. I don't feel anything abnormal when driving so I didn't care much.

Today I measured it again and driver side is only 0.5" lower. I only got 79K miles on it.

I am thinking of using that Airlift 1000 air bag suspension to fix this common problem, it looks easier to do than replacing the coil spring plus you can adjust the pressure to lift or lower it.

I was wondering can you measure and tell me how high you sit now with the lowered springs from the ground to the fender on your front and back!?!?! I to have become victim to the infamous suspension sag. I was parked next to another Path the other day and noticed my rear sits sooooo much lower than the front end. Since you did ur suspension swap a lil while ago now I figured your new springs should have settled by now.

What i found out to be more of a true measurement a while ago, is measure at the front of your running board, from the ground to the bottom of the running board, then measure back at the end of the running board torwards the rear and you should have a lower number in the front.

Our path also gives off the look that the rear end is lower than the front, because the front fender is higher in the body than the rear.

you can see what i mean by the red line i edited onto my car below:

by following that one indent on the cars body line, you can clearly see how much higher the front body styled fender is and it also gives off more of an illusion that the rear is lower.

As an example of measuring the 97 QX4 is stated to be 32.09 front and 33.51 rear measured ground to wheel arch as per the Service Manual.
So verify by the published manual
