:help so I got myself another 240sx 89 ka24e model body needs a bit of work but the engine 200kms it runs decent but (smells like burned oil) hmm well here we go blows bluish greyish whitish smoke every time i gas and seems like it leaks power. Also tempts to blow big piles of smoke if i just let it sit and run for 5 minutes and than gas Also i see a bit of oil spills on the side of the block like it comes where head gasket sits.Did some trouble shooting:

Accordin to mechanic there is 3 things that can cause oil burning:1 head gasket,2valve seals,3piston rings. or all 3. Test1 Drained cooling sysytem This is what i found in my block the fluid was redish bbrownish colour with rainbow glow like the one you get when add a drop of oil into water. So mechanic says headgastet is blown and all the passages are ****ed. so all my fluids aren't going where they supose too!:thinker

Soon gonna do compression test to see if piston rins are involed in this mess.

So far mechaniks sad its your headgasket.I am thinkin of tryin this dudes to fix it http://www.thermalweld.com any opinions?

If anyone has any suggestions in regards to my motor pls reply. Thanks

PROBLEM #2

Every time i do right turn or go over spped bump i hear this terrible streching/skratching/grinding noise undernith my rear driverside wheel also it temtst to get louder when it rains and sometimes when it rains I hear that noise when i drive in streight line.:help

So far people sad its your bushing someone sad its power steering?

Which bushing ??? or how do i test if its power steering?

Depends on what you want to do with the car.... if you want to get it to "running" shape and just go the easy non-pro route, just reseal your head, flush the coolant system and pray nothing else happens.

BTW, if it is your Head gasket... your gonna leak on your compression test, so whats the point....

you have 3 options to make sure your car is reliable1)put in another SOHC or DOHC (lots more work for dohc) engine2) swap in an SR, or CA (RB if you have $hitloads of $$)3) repair the engine.... the right way

none of these are cheap, but I would evaluate what you want out of the car first, performance, looks, performance and looks, unreliable everyday driver,a reliable everyday driver, or a POS beater (no offense but this sounds like where you are starting out)

As for the scratching, check your brake rotors for unusual wear, check your lugs to make sure everything is tight, and check the wheel well to make sure nothing else is rubbing. If it was power steering (w/out hicas) I would expect the noise to be in the front driver side of the engine compartment or underneath where the rack is.

chow...
