A few Nissans in the group too.

Cadillac CTS Wagon: just never quite caught on.

Chrysler 200 convertible: poorly made and cheap but a staple of rental car fleets

Dodge Avenger: not sure what Dodge was avenging but it's going away

Ford E series van: The ol' familiar Econoline. Being replaced by the weirder lookin' transit commercial van.

Acura TSX and TL: 2 decent goofy looking front end sedans being replaced by one decent goofy looking front end sedan - TLX. I suppose they'll save money by resusing the same letters.

Honda Insight. The original hybrid subcompact that was devoured by the reviled Toyota Prius.

Jeeeeeaaag XK. I didn't realize they were still selling them, but despite the occasional facelift, we're talking a new 20 yr old car.

NISSAN CUBE: Nissan's contribution to the ugly-squarish-mini-minivan-craze-designed-for-young-people-but-bought-mostly-by-geriatrics, the Cube wasn't bad though it seemed a tad out of it's "element". And not an ideal choice for converting from automatic to stick. ;)

NISSAN MURANO CROSS CABRIOLET: A reason there might be some hope for Nissan by their finally killing off this utter embarrassment...again.

Toyota FJ Cruiser. big, homely and inefficient, but also kinda cool.. RIP

Thoughts? comments?

I make sure to ask what model car they are giving me now, thanks to this.

I'm sad about the CTS wagon. I've always loved a good wagon. They just don't do well in the US though. The rest of them I had assumed weren't being made anymore anyway, LOL

Last winter I was looking into FJ's a lot. They're genuinely competent off-road vehicles that are pretty reliable, with the first year 05's being average. They respond very well to customization, and look so much better with some decent wheels, suspension work, and the usual exterior add-ons. The problem is that the MSRP is about 5-7k too much for an underpowered niche vehicle, even if it is quality. Used prices are pretty high as well, and the end of production certainly won't help that.

TSX started out as a neat idea. Styling got worse.

I will miss the FJ, CTS, and XK. All are outstanding vehicles in their own ways.

Sadly, the gorgeous CTS wagon will probably be the very last Cadillac wagon sold in America, not counting hearses. [Cadillac is getting out of the hearse business too.]

Cadillac CTS Wagon - Very sad, I've always been a fan of fast estates however I can sort of understand with the direction that Cadillac has taken with their design I don't think a wagon would've done very well at all.

Chrysler 200 convertible - Good riddance.

Dodge Avenger - good riddance again

Ford E series van - I fear that the transits don't quite emit the rapey vibe that a proper windowless econoline does which makes me shed a tear for all the child molesters

Acura TSX and TL - ehhh, soulless luxury people movers, ehhhhh

Honda Insight. - Sad since it was as you said the first one but really, ehhhh

Jeeeeeaaag XK. - again ehhhhhh

I see what you did there hehe

NISSAN MURANO CROSS CABRIOLET - Thank the baby Jesus!

Toyota FJ Cruiser. - As a longtime Toyota 4x4 owner I gotta say the FJCruiser had always disappointing me but it is still sad to see it go considering Toyota USA no longer has a designated "off-roader" with the 4Runner moving evermore toward comfort.

I'm bummed about the FJ only because there are so few out of the box decent 4x4s on the market in the US anymore. Not everyone wants a fricking Jeep. It wasn't perfect (IFS), but you could get it with a locker out back and it would perform reasonably well in the dirt. With Nissan killing the Xterra this year, the choices are even fewer (4 runner, Wrangler, Frontier, Tacoma).

Xterra and Frontier were plagued with fragile egg shell aluminum front axle housings. Tacomas are just ugly.

Full size rigs don't fit on a lot of the trails here.

^ I completely agree, hopefully Toyota makes some moves and either brings a modified version of the Fortuner/Hilux or the 70/80/90 series cruisers here.

idk what ford is thinking. first they destroyed the lincoln town car/grand marques, crown vic, effecting millions of limo, taxi, and transportation services. now they are removing the E-series van, further killing their profits. no one is picking up passengers in a goofy euro rape-box.

so now companies are migrating to other formats: nissan van, hyundai genesis, toyota highlander/avalon, etc.
