Car made a funny noise.

Drove my car earlier and it wouldn't shift so I pulled over and hit the brakes kinda hard and it died. I started it back up and it was making an awkward noise then started jumping and smoking.

That could go a few different directions. Any other symptoms prior to this? Any known issues?

it just started doing this it waited til after I replaced the valve cover gasket to start acting up like it was waiting for me to do it.

There's a leak in the new gasket, you must not have sealed it properly.

Well I guess it doesn't matter now cause that motor blew up on me, it didn't tell me about my oil pressure until the last second. I've been thinking about putting a gauge in it to prevent that from happening again.

Big rule of thumb with oil: once your oil light is on, it's too late.
