new to the site.i'm currently working as an army mechanic but have limited experience on civilian vechicles.in about a year from now after a deployment to afganistan and leaving germany to my next assignment stateside i will finally be getting my first project car.it's a 91 240sx with the sr20det already installed.i'm buying it from a friend. he's said it runs but the speed sensor is bad causing the car to lurch when boost hits.anyone heard of this problem? .I plan on rebuilding the engine but i'm on a tight budget cause i have a family . looking to make 300 to350hp at th wheels any suggestions?

I would first try replacing the speed sensor and seeing if the problem would fix.

if not it seems like a boost lag...

The speed sensor has nothing to do with the car lurching under boost. It's probably a sign that something is wrong in the intercooler plumbing or the turbo is getting ready to go out.

If you want to make around that much HP, I would suggest looking at one of the GT28 framed turbos. They're relatively inexpensive (I don't know what your pay rate is, but I would think anyone around E-4 to E-5 and making good BAH could afford one). The big thing is to remember to upgrade the fuel system at the same time too. Injectors, MAF, and ECU.

godspeed is in the same class as isis and megan racing. If I were to choose one, I'd choose ISIS. I currently have an ISIS short shifter and an ISIS Electronic Boost Controller. I can't vouch for the boost controller, but I can say the short shifter feels nice and crisp. I did swap the bushing for an oem bushing though.
