Hello nicoclub. I have been reading these forums for a long time but this is my first time posting. Anyway's my completely stock 5 speed 240sx se does something really weird after I've been driving it for a few hours. Whenever I go to hit the gas it will lose power. It will kind of hiccup and get power for a second and then lose it again if I keep holding the gas down as if I were playing with the gas pedal. If I turn the car totally off and wait about 45 seconds I can crank it back up and it will act fine for another hour. A few years ago it was doing this and it got progressively worse until I brought it to a mechanic. He said my fuel pump and distributor were bad and replaced them both and the car worked well again up until a few months ago. Does anyone know what the problem is? If anyone can help me it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the response. I have replaced the fuel filter and used a bottle of Lucas upper cylinder lubricant and fuel injector cleaner. The fuel that came out of the fuel filter was pretty dirty. Hopefully this will work. Thanks again.
