A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I just recently bought my 2002 Sentra SE-R Spec V. it just has a CAI. I put in some HID's that i had from my last car, and since I never drove it at night before the HID's not sure if they are the problem. BASICALLY, when I turn on my headlights it feels as if my cars throttle body isnt opening all the way. With the headlights on even if I am flooring it, it feels as if the throttle body is only open 15%. As soon as I turn the headlights off, power is INSTANTLY back. I have checked all of my fuses, my alternator and my battery...help???

Sounds like a grounding issue to me. You might need a grounding kit to solve the problem.

hmmmm could it be because I have the HID's grounded to the battery ground? and I think the other HID is grounded to the alternator ground?

I can't say for sure thats your problem. But sounds like you are pulling power when you turn the lights on. Did the wiring directions say to do what you did?

um yah I installed it just like the instructions said, and just so happened to use the same ground as the battery. tommorow morning I'll try regrounding it to a different location and see if that does anything....i mean is it possible though that they can really be sucking up THAT much power...like i said its like 15% throttle even when im flooring it with the lights on...although its like that from when it really would be 15% throttle, all the way up to 100%(flooring it) so its not like I have to floor it to squeeze that 15% out....

put the stock headlights back in - turn them on and see if you have the same problem.

put it back to stock...same results...nothing....basically...there has to be some line that is getting crossed whenever there is power going to the headlights..but what???

Parasitic drain somewhere....hopefully you'll figure it out soon. Good luck.

wow....just wow.....no clue why...but I put my stock tail light bulbs in...took out my LED ones(which were just a direct replacement bulb...notthing crazy or anything...and not a cheapy pepboy brand LED bulb either)...well changed those...and problem fixed...why there was a problem I am still confused about?
