Sup nico,

Got a few questions for you guys.

Im just wondering if any of you guys financed your 240sx'es.

The reason I am asking is i came up on a great deal, but cant seem to scrape up the cash to buy it in time. So I am concidering taking out a loan.

Has anyone financed their 240sx'es with SR's installed?

Do you think its worth it to finance the car? its only 3500 bucks. But I dont have the cash on hand. Im waiting on a few of my cars to sell. And my parents wont loan me the cash. So its either finance it or gonna have to pass on it.

Let me know guys.

I'd pass on it. Do you know who performed the swap. There are too many issues that could arise. You don't want to be stuck with payments and shell out more money for car repairs. Regardless, I don't know of any bank who'll loan you money to purchase a used modified car.

Most banks wont finance cars 10-19 years old. And with drift tax, anything over NADA is going to be a red flag.

I financed both my 1991 240sx SE, ($2300, 4 years ago) and my 1995 240sx SE ($4700, 2 years ago).... But, both were below or equal to kbb. Anything above bluebook might be hard to get, unless you have good credit.

You would be better off trying to get a personal loan than an actual car loan for something of this nature. Most banks will do personal loans up to about 5k without "perfect" credit but you still have to have above average credit...esp these days.

You can then spend the money on whatever you want. I did this to complete my engine build due to the better interest rate than putting it on CC's for all the small things that come along. I also went to several banks and talked to them and ended up at my local credit union who allowed me to set the payment/loan term to what i was comfortable with as long as it was within a certain period.

Again just a suggestion, i dont know your circumstance and you might need a co-signer if you are younger and dont have an established credit profile....but it is an option you might want to research.

my red one was paid in full $500and my white one i bought it from a private dealer and they offered financetotal cost incld. taxes and processing fees and registration and such = $1600

paid $350 down$250 first payment ($50 one time charge for titling) Jan 23$200 bi weekly

---etc---So yeah i was short on money too but if i was too pay that min $200 then by end of March its fully paid without constricting my walletbut of course id prolly end up putting more per month to be out of their hands...

who is selling?whats the finance terms?your own choices for personal loan?does the car check out to your likings?-testdrivewhich SR is it?

if its crappy and just tempting then your better off finding a shell or cheap 240 w/blown ka and buy your own motor + extra needs...u might end up saving money...

A while ago I asked my bank if I could borrow 3k, it seemed easy to pay off but my bank said lowest personal loan was 6k. I assume if I could get the 6k that I would only need 2800 and leave the rest to pay off the loan and build credit at the same time.

I don't mess much with credit and loans, is there any reason not to do this? I guess other than a crappy rate.

Personal loans.... citi financial approves pretty easy! Personal loans have high interest rates.... compared to normal car loans... Buts its the only way to buy a modded car without the dough. I was going to buy someone elses car... but decided to take out a loan to fix up my existing 240sx... it was well worth it, got to do it how I wanted it and knew the history of the car.

Wouldn't mind 6k right bout now, I've gotten railed from the mortage agency since they put a foreclosure on me. It's my deadbeat dad's house and he's skipped town to the other side of the country. so I need that sorted out before anything.

You're best of just passing. Just as your saying to your self " OMG this is the most amazing deal I have ever seen, I'll never run across such a good deal like this ever again." another one will pop up a week later, cleaner, closer, and legit. I bet you 5$, if I'm wrong I'll paypal you 5$ lol. That's just Murffiez Law dude.

Always best to go shopping w/ cash in hand and to pay in full (feels good to drop like 5K in C-notes on the person you're buying from). Saves you and every one a head ache and helps you from tire kicking people or getting a roach running car that you "just had to have".

There is my .02
