I just came back from a trip to NJ with my car and i got back with problems.
2 weeks ago i went to the beach which is like 2hours from my house. when i was about to leave i turned the car on and it turned off. I pressed the gas and kept it steady at 1K for about 10 sec and the car stayed on. when i got back home i put Fuel Injector Cleaner in and then it started up fine.
Now when i got back from NJ the car started doing the same thing but this time FIC didn't work it kept shuting off.
i took her to the machanic and the computer said it was an idle sensor. At the time the idle was at 400 instead if 900. the machanic then said that it was because of a tube that goes from the intake to the engine that is bent and it isn't letting enough air pass through. So i just went to a discount auto and got another tube and replaced it. i have doubts thats the problem cuz the tube has been like that for 3-4months since i put the intake in and it didn't give me a problem before.
Also the intake makes a constant vacume sound while the car is on. Not the sucking sound that it makes when u press the gas but a constant vacume sound, its not loud but u could notice it.
Just now i was gona go to walmart and the car didn't start i poped the hood took the filter foam and hit it against my hand a couple times put it back on and started the car and it turned on. it hesitated but it stayed on. i still am not sure if it could just be the filter that is dirty or if it might be a bigger problem. i think it might be the injectors maybe the fuel pump or something else please help.
BTW the timesthe car kept turning off the only way it would stay on was if i held the accelerator for awhile around 1K. Maybe that'll help ya help me thax.
