Car jumps to the side going over bumps

I tried searching but wasn't having luck, maybe it was my search terms.

I have a 2010 Nisssan Altima 2.5S and when I'm on the freeway and go over bumps or large cracks that are spaced every so many feet the car gets hard to control and will suddenly jump to the right or left by several inches.

Had the dealer mechanics look at it and they said the bushings and suspension and steering are all fine and that they drove another of the same model and had the same issue. They recommended looking into camber kits to help.

Does anyone have any other input on this? I just want to be sure the dealer isn't jerking me around

Thanks!

If they are talking about camber kits, it must be out of alignment.
Has this car been in a wreck or anything?

No no wrecks or anything, it has a clean bill of health from the car fax history report. Only 56k miles on it. I think they're screwing me and don't want to fix it because there's no way this is normal there would be a recall otherwise lawsuits.

It's enough of a jump to make me afraid I'm gonna hit the car next to me

Carfax isn't everything.
How long have you had the car?
Has anyone checked the alignment and given you a copy of the readings?

I've had the car for about 12 days now. I haven't had anyone check the alignment unless they did that at the dealer but they didn't mention that specifically. It stops straight if I take my hands off the wheel but I guess that would only show if the alignment was pretty off.

Do you think that's where I should start?

Okay, if the alignment checks out what should be the next thing to check?

If the issue isn't alignment related...the next steps is to inspect all the suspension components. Consider test driving another Altima to determine for yourself if what you're describing is in fact normal.
