I'm a bit confused as to what you mean by jump? Are you referring to a misfire from the engine? Does the car lunge forward? Please be a bit more descriptive. It would help us to give you a better answer.

Mine does the same thing. I just rebuilt the engine and thought it was a vacume leak too.

It runs normal and then there is a bumble or bump in the engine performance that makes the car shake. And then it happens a few seconds later. Only when it is idling though. And it seems to be only when it is hot or warm.

vacuum leak, idle control valve, or one cylinder thats not working at all, at higher speeds you wouldnt knotice it because theres enough momentum to cancel it out. try pulling spark plug wires ONE AT A TIME, the engine should get worse or die, thats a good thing. if you pull a wire and the engine still acts the same way then you got a problem there!!!! remember when you pull a wire put it back as you move on to the next one.

I did that too. It's not the problem. I am sure it is a leak somewhere in the vacume lines.

You may have a bad plug wire somewhere. Try driving around really slow in a parking lot in first gear. Typically you would feel the missing then as well. This problem wouldn't show itself from pulling the wire since it would only misfire sometimes if the problem is minor as it usually is. If it was a major problem with the wire, you would likely be able to hear a spark and you may even be able to see a spark coming out of the wire somewhere.

I'll check them again then. Maybe oil and stuff built up on them. There was oil on the pistons to lube them up.

Couldn't be the wires. They're brand new!

check your spark plug wells if you have a de engine the smallest amount of moisture in the wells can cause an intermitten miss. if you have an e engine could be the harness along side the valve cover.
