Hi All,

I own a 2012 nissan rogue SV AWD, just hit 66k miles, and recently I found out that if I suddenly let off the gas pedal during acceleration, the car jerks, it's just like when you are standing right there, and someone pushes you from the back, does anyone have any clue what is going on? Thank you.

Hard to say if it’s egr/ idle air valve issue or a transmission issue.

If you have not replaced the transmissions fluid yet, that would be a suggested step.

There is also a big thread on CVT transmission problems. Just search.

Here’s that big thread.

Haha! I thought you were gonna call someone a jerk in this thread!

Anyway, with new cars and drive-by-wire tech, you can do things like a throttle pedal relearn procedure. It's outlined in the factory service manual. Now, for whatever reason, the EC chapter is missing from the FSM for your 2012, but I do find the same stuff in the EC chapter for a 2013 model. When I look there I see a specific procedure for accelerator pedal release position! Please look at this link and consider performing the routing on page 22 and maybe following through with the one on page 23. Best of luck!

It can be a sign a trans mount is dead, the engine rocks hard at a sudden throttle shutoff due to missing or torn rubber in one.
