ok so i went to in n out with my friend to get something to eat and we took my car. car started perfect, drove perfect, no issues at all. we get back to school and then realize we're an hour early for lab lol so we sit in my car listening to the radio for 5-10 min MAX! could not have been more then 10 min, my friend says it couldnt have been more then 5 min... so then i decide to go get an icee or go to the park or something and when i try to start it, this is what i hear

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x86wjgoO_c4

i was like WTF?!!!! so i called the dealer and the girl told me that she had someone towed in with the same sound the other day and they had a dead battery. i was like WTF? so i called my brother and he had jumper cables and came by and jump started the car for me... it drove fine the way home. i took out the battery and put it to charge. tonight i'm putting the battery back in and dropping it off at the dealership. i have an appointment for them to check it out tomorrow morning... idk if it was just a dead battery or what but it sounded hella crazy!!!!!!!

Yeah your Battery was low. This happend to me after I got the turbo installed and came home. I was in the car for about 2 hours messing around and setting up my Nav system. Sounded exactly the same. Remember that nissan batteries are cheap...If I remember it stated in a thread here before. That's why I bought an Optima yellow top ( Deep Cycle ). Hope your problem is fixed .

Mine did this noise - means that you can boost with roadside a** .If in time there will be no sound, then batt needs to be changed

lol i know a battery doesnt make sound but i've never heard a car make that bad of a sound because of a dead battery. usually it sounds like the car starting but just at a much slower speed. or with Fords they make a quiet click sound. this one, people were hearing like 3 rows over in a packed parking lot.

before I even read the thread, after listening to the video, I knew oit was the battery...

for a while, I was runniogn my stereo system and all 8 TV's in the car while driving all the time... then one day, the car started wigging out... it sounded just like this one of the times, and I tested the battery and saw that my voltage was VERY low... I've since added a few more things to prevent this from happening (and yes this happened to my kinetik 1800)

if I were you, I would get a red top... yellow tops are for cars with large voltage draws like stereos ... deep cycle (gel cell)batteries are designed to be drained and recharged with no problems.... your factory acid filled batter is not, so after getting drained like that, it will NEVER be the same again... not that it won't fully charge, but it will never hold charge like it did before... they aren't designed to be discharged like that...

anyway, to be safe, I would get a red top.. those are just designed with a large amount od cranking amps and cold cranking amps and you'll never have to worry about batteries agin!

The OEM Battery is crap! Mine died at 14 months, dealer wanted me to pay 50% around $80 lol, told them to get fuked and bought a $80 battery from Batteries Plus with 4 year free replacement and 150 more cold cranking amps!

My battery has died twice now Nasty sound I know, I freaked out the first time.

Doc, If I were planning on running a system later would a yellow top be beneficial over a red top ???

absolutely...

I suggest you get a kinetik 1800, largest replacement battery in factory location possible... both me and applebonker are running a kinetik up front with an additional kinetik in the rear
