Hey guys.. So I was a dumbass and decided to degrease my engine with some of that gumout stuff. My car ran perfectly fine before i hosed down the bay. After i hosed it down, it didn't start at all. I let it sit for about 15 min's and it still didn't start. I pulled all the spark plug wires and found water in the spark plug wells so i blasted all the water out with a compressor till everything was dry. I went back to crank it again and still nothing... I then pulled the spark plugs out one by one and checked each one for a spark and there wasn't any sparks on any of them. I AM getting fuel and all the injectors are working but im stumped as to why it isn't starting. I even took the dizzy cap off and cleaned that..There didn't seem to be anything wrong with it at all. It's been four hours and pretty much all the water that was in the bay has dried up. I checked the ecu for codes and it's throwing a code 11 which is the CAS.. I have been searching for quiet some time to no avail.. I've even gone to the service manual.. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING BUT START A NEW THREAD.. so please help me out guys.. thanks :)

Oh I forgot to mention I have a stock 98 if thats important at all.

Does the car crank at all? What happens when you turn the key to start it, does it just click? Does it crank?

Well you got a CAS error code so try swapping it with a working distributor. You might have shorted it out or something while spraying the engine bay.

Yea It cranks just fine. The fuel pump turns on and everything and it turns over perfectly.. it just refuses to start. When i checked for spark it didn't have any at all.

I wish I had an extra one lying around.. I guess I'll have to find one from a junk yard or something. Is there any way to test if mine is good though? Like using a meter or something?

Well I know for a fact that your car wont run without a working CAS, accidentally disconnected it the other day. So that's my bet considering your ECU is telling you so. I don't think you can test it however... Sorry.

Could be the coil or power transistor. Check for codes then the FSM and follow the signal path, and voltage until it goes away and replace what is affected.

Thanks for the help guys.. I went to go check out another cas from someone else and it had the exact same resistance.. and when i put it in my car there was still no spark.. I've decided not to waste anymore time and just get it towed to a shop only because I really need it done.

Note to self.. when detailing an engine bay, cover all electric components lolz...
