(This is Long I know but if you have time please read I need some help)

Let me Brief you guys first off. About 2 months ago My Brother borrowed my Q45 while his M3 was in the shop. While he had it worked fine. The night before I was going to get it back I went to his house and we took my Q out to get some food instead of driving my Audi cause I missed it and felt like driving it. All is well, Next morning my bro says it starts but then shuts off...I was like WTF then I remembered the gas was low. So we went and put gas in the car. Still starts run for like 3 seconds then shuts off. So I say okay maybe MAF I bought one from Infiniti and plugged it in still did the same thing. So as you know that piece is a life fortune (Joking) so I returned it. Agter that I said well lets do a Fuel Filter and see....No go.Then a Fuel pump OEM still wont work at this point the car cranks and turns over but then immediatly turns off (less then 1 second of running) So now I am lost as hell.

Recap of Replaced parts

-Fuel Pump-Fuel Filter-Spark Plugs-Air Filter-MAF

I end up giving up and taking it to my Local dealer (Jim Coleman Infiniti) By now I am sure it is the immobilizer and I cant fix that myself.

I take it in and now they are saying well we want 3.0 diagnostic I say fine what ever I just want the car running. They tell me it is the immobilizer control unit so I buy one and they put it in BTW total labor is like 5.5 so my bill is close to $600 now. I have been calling since Thursday and no calls back after many many messages to the manager and the service writer. Finally today he is there and answers and tells me that they pluged it in and programed it but the 4th signal wire is getting no signal. I am pissed cause now they want to pull the dash and charge me more. I just feel like they should have figured all this out already not after me spending almost 600 with them.

What do you guys think I should do?

When an owner supplies a component, he alone is warrantying that component, not the installer. Perhaps if you instructed them to test the component before installation or at least before coming out of the dash, it might be different.

Not sure you diagnosis procedure is rigorous enough.

Hope you used OEM specified parts that you replaced. Never did a fuel pressure test?

The module is fine and fuel is fine they are saying it is a wiring issue with the number 4 wire in the harness not the part that they just told me to replace.

Do you have any rodents? Weird problem in that it suddenly appeared.

Not to be goofy but did you use an original key? How much gas did you add?

Is the car repair industry the only industry where they can charge you for a repair even if it didn't fix the problem?

Medicine. Lazy doctors sometimes throw pills at problems.

The Chrysler dealer called me today and said I needed a new supercharger at $7000 (aftermarket warranty covered, but a waste). I declined the repair and will be charged $182 for a misdiagnosed problem, a problem where I already know what the damn issue is.

When I asked if anyone in his shop was specifically trained and certified by Daimler on the Crossfire and SRT6, I was told "All our guys are trained." Trained to what? Trained to change the oil on a Caravan?

The conversation went on, he asked why I didn't believe him, I explained the issue in detail but he had no idea what I was talking about so I just gave up and said I'd be picking up the car, and paying a diagnostic fee.

Sorry, I'm venting.

*grumble*

Meanwhile, I've had nothing but red carpet treatment from Cadillac and Infiniti dealers.

They we wonder why we need a bail out for them.

I am surprised chevy and Furd filed for one, maybe they just want the money.

Ford declined the bailout money. They're sitting on $23 billion for now.

They must. The over-cost of a diagnostic fee is also required if the shop definitely wants to get to the bottom of this.

I've had people come to my shop and leave then come back with new repairs because we pinpointed the issue in the first place.

What is the problem with the supercharger that they can't diagnose? Is it a common problem with the Crossfires?

Its very common. A $275 aftermarket intercooler pump is a permanent fix, but I was hoping to just pay the $50 deductible and have it covered under the warranty and enjoy 2-3 years of the OEM Bosch pump.
