i went out to start up my car and it started.. but the rpms just dropped dead low and car just shut off..can anyone help with this.. id be greatly appreciated

i found that maybe the iacv could be bad.. can anyone confirm this?i was wondering if i could replace this by myself, but its all the way by the firewall really hard to reach..any help would be appreciated..

(all these problems started happening after i stalled a fwe times.)

well, id idnt get any responses but i just went out and adjusted the idle screw and its idling pretty fine now..

could be because the motor was cold.. i have no clue actually, i have to try it again when the car gets cold.

looks like clockwise = less idlecounterclock = more idlei set mine at 800ish now.. it was idling at 600 and almost seemed like the car wanted to die.

seems like your know a thing or 2. have you checked all the simple stuff.

plugs wires cap n rotor?

clean the throttle body check the tension on the cable?

check the MAF sensor, take it out, shine a light in the little hole and see if the 2 tiny little sensor wires are intact or it'll run rich.

fuel filter is a cheap issue to eliminate.

carefully remove the brittle connectors. needle nose pliers to take off metal clip. use little tiny bits of fine grit sandpaper and electrical cleaner to get the corrosion off.

as for the idle control valve i dunno. maybe the plunger is sticking. get some "seafoam" and spray it deep into the intake manifold. maybe itll unstick it

yeeah, i just wiggled alot of connections..but none were bad, but the MAF connector.. struck me in awe because the connector from the harness was missing one of the four slots where the sensor connects to..

but my car is running fine now.. it was just the idle screw

When that happened to me once, it turned out to be a vacuum leak...

Just for the record, if this happens again you know... Might want to give that a look.

Well, I dont have a KA anymore so I dont know exactly where to tell you to look. On my rb20 theres vacuum lines everywhere lol.

brake booster is the most obvious and probably the biggest vacuum line... check for a crack or if the line isnt securely on the fitting.

Isnt the problem already solved though?
