:( im in lethbridge for university now, and my folks decided for me to just park my car instead of taking it up and paying insurance on it. it makes sense, cause i dont want to put it through abuse during winter, and its in a heated storage place for now. good by until april my good friend...

anyone else have this coming?

My car is only driven about once every two weeks as it is. During the winter it will stay the same, but incase we have any snow it will not be driven -- that's what the 4x4 is for.

pretty much after the first snow, my car is garaged until spring. I don't like the salt that sits on the roads for 5 months...I hate to think about the damage salt does underneath your car.

stoneage is right. i don't know anything about your family and their financial backgroup or anything about the school you're going to, but not having to worry about insurance while in school and getting your 'stuff' together right off the bat is a good thing. the university of kentucky doesn't let first year students get a parking permit and with the lack of parking space available you might as well leave your car at home. it's helped a lot of people get through the first year. if you need a ride, go to the girls dorm, they're all suckers for giving guys a ride and usually mom and dad buy them nicer cars then the guys.:D

Mayhem: the salt here is poured on by the ton! everytime i drove through it i could hear it sticking to the chassis, and i would want to wash it every 5 minutes

but it should put my mind at a bit more ease, the only problem is how much spare time i have. nothing to do but play games and post whore here :)

Be sure to either go start it every so often or disconnect the battery. I'd go for starting it every week or so.

Ninja:repos advice is good but I wanna add this:Dont just run it (even tho that is very important), actually drive it.

You want to get all the functional fluids to come up to full operatign temps as well.

That includes of course, not just oil and coolant but, brake fluid, transmission/clutch fluid even powersteering fluid.

And don't forget to run the AC as well, (so your seals dont dry out and harden causing leaks).

Fred...:)

Im in the process of fixing the A/C and powersteering of my 83 Sentra. Its been in my granddads shop for 2 years now. One day I want to make it RWD, maybe even throw in a SR20DET. That would be a mean car!
