Now the nismo is around 300 and so is the Typhoon. But if i just take out the yellow circles part wouldn't it just make sense to put a cone filter on the end and it'll be the same thing saving.. 200 dollars? It'd still be a K&N filter of course..

DO NOTHING!.

Just change your filter regularly. Your current intake is more than enough for your engine running at the highest RPM. Running on boost would be a different situation, but you don't have turbo.

Spend your $300 on Purelator PureOne filters and crates for Royal Purple oil.

End of Story.

you cloud add the cone filters and get some bennefit from them but no the full bennefit of a typhoon. the ribbed elbows cause a bit of air restiction in the airflow. so i would just go with an AEM, Typhoon, or a Fujita intake system.

If you decide to go with the Nismo or the Typhoon, then sell your Z tube to a G guy, they love em.

My choice for CAI? Nismo, of course. I've got one installed in my ride and I'm lovin' it.
