Hi Nissan Enthusiast

I am in process of cleaning up my 240 SX daily driver and am spending $2000.00 for bodywork some rust issues.
My car is insured through company that only looks at value listed by `(lets say Black book or loan value)
Any suggestions on how to go about insuring for a set value of lets say $4000-$5000.00

Thanks

There are some insurance companies that will let you insure the car to a receipt value. :)

my insurance agent set me up with a plan specifically for cars with aftermarket/expensive/rare s*** on them. if i get into an accident and the other person is present (like i have their info) i do not have to pay a deductible, but if its a hit and run or vandalism i have to pay a $500 deductible. but say they smash a one of my kouki tail lights, my insurance replaces it with another kouki tail light. or if i get into an accident and bend a rim, they replace it. i pay about $100/mo for mine and its full coverage.

im a 23 year old male and i drive what my insurance calls a "sportscar." my insurance agent is a family friend and ive been with him since i was 15 1/2. i lucked out and all of my old tickets are over 3 years so i have a clean record. between 16-20 years old i got 10 speeding tickets and 5 failure to stops. so 15 moving violations. had my license suspended 4 times and had 2 cars impounded for driving with no insurance, on a suspended license, unsafe lane change, open alcohol (i was a minor) and possesion of marijuana (lol). funny thing is i got all my speeding tickets while driving my 1976 Mercedes solid iron boat, but i havent gotten a single ticket for ANYTHING since ive owned my 240. 240's a bust so i drive low and slow.

Being old (both me and the cars) and multicar/multipolicy discounts. My G35 is around $80/month or so, and then there's house insurance. So I'm still paying them plenty.

Edit: did just look at the policy, guess its around $35 per S13 per month. So $70/month for both of them.
With convertible being a littl higher than coupe.

I think classic car insurance is the way to go in this case; while it may not be the cheapest option available, at least you’ll receive adequate coverage and compensation in the event of an accident. My classic car insurance with AARP-The Hartford allows me to have a say in the stated maximum value of my car. Check them out and see if they’ll take you on as a client.
