Well, just finished installing my KA-T stuff and all went well. Car fired up right away.

My problem now is that after the car turns on, it will idle beautifully for about 10-15 seconds then bogs out and dies. I've tried holding the rev's up and pumping the gas when its about to turn off but that hasn't helped. When I try to pump the gas as its about to die it just turns off even quicker.

So far I've checked my fuel pump and it turns on every time. I disconnected the hoses going to the fuel rail and gas pumps out of them.

I'm not sure how to test injectors other than taking the whole rail off maybe?

Maybe its not fuel related? Any ideas guys?

Pics and description of the BOV/MAF/IACV/IC setup would be the most help to figure it out. Probably vaccum related.

+1 on the vacuum/boost leak. Did you block off your egr? Check all your hoses and piping.

Yeah all my emissions are removed and capped. I will do a boost leak test soon. Haven't been able to test things out because of weather. Thanks for your suggestions so far though!

WD makes another good point, check your dizzy with a multimeter per FSM. I had a idle problem once and it ended up being the CAS in the dizzy.

-if it "hits a lick for a bit or idles fine for more than 5 seconds prob not ignition related (no misfires)

Ecu inputs-^dizzy stuff, coolant temp sensor** ,tps

Pull plugs smell for gas maybe to rich insp. em, if in any doubt replace anywayz CHEAP guess((iknow ^ ignition but tied to fuel more or less foul))

Start EASY stuff--(eliminate fuel system LACK of by sprayin starting fluid in when its about to die if it stays runnin prob to little fuel)

GOODLUCK! go slow dont fiddle you'll get lost in guessing elminate possibilites

Today I got around to doing that boost leak. I have a huge vac/boost leak at the manifold halves. It was struggling to hold 3lbs of air. Unfortunately with the Super Bowl being tomorrow I don't think I'll get around to changing it out until Monday.

Hopefully that leak is what the problem is.

Well after fixing the leak it now holds 20psi.

It now will sit idling forever if i wanted it to. No dips, no backfires, no smoking.

But if I give it gas it does the same thing. Turns off. I'm losing my mind.

Timing is 100% on spot.

Going to try swaping out to a OEM ecu and see if its my tune. I have no clue where to diagnose anymore

That is one thing I was planning on changing out tomorrow along with spark plugs as well.

I'm hoping for it to be something this simple :C

off topic but, is there anyway to change the title? I think it would be more helpful if it were something like = Car idles, with gas engine dies

Good job homie, editing titles makes everything easier for the "search" function. Otherwise you end up with "holy crap my car runs awful" all over the place :chuckle:

Changed the fuel filter and spark plugs.

My plugs are extremely dark with carbon deposits. Look's like its running waaaay rich. Would this cause the problem that I'm having?

Where can I go from here?

I have an EFI Specialist tuned ECU for my setup

Any updates on your problem, I have the same issue with car idling high then low then when i give gas it shuts off. I have a broken bolt on the manifold which is causing an exhaust leak, i hope thats the issue.

I have also been told that it could be my bov. They said it stays open to long tricking the ecu not to put fuel causing the engine die...idk maybe. Might have to change spring rate or service...check yours out!

It sounds like you have a blow off valve that is vented to the atmosphere. When it vents or "blows off" it creates a super rich condition and causes the engine to stall.

Do you have a BOV installed?

Might be dirty IACV as well when it dies in neutral.
