There are so many things wrong with this I dont know where to begin.

okay here goes.

a) did you calibrate the TPS when you installed it?

b) have you done a timing chain install before on a KA motor? Any other motor?

c) you cannot reset your computer by disconnecting the battery. You have to turn a little knob on the back of the ECU twice.

750 is normal mine runs about 800, when I hit the AC it kicks it upto 1300 or so. is the 1500 with the AC on?

sorry about the battery reset thats what my friends do to reset theirs. however i do know that my 89 240 can be self diagnosted with the leds on back of the ecu (already had it out and i do know what knob your talking about) no this is my first timing chain install. i will tell you it's done right i used this web site and a chiltons book to do it by. and no the a/c was off.

p.s. how do you calabrate the tps sensor

When the motor is on and idling, loosen the screws around the TPS and twist it till you make the sensor click when you just pull on the throttle cable a little bit. When you let off the cable, the idle should then return to normal.

Pehaps before this, you should just make sure that the throttle cable is not tightened too much and you just have your butterfly valve slightly open...

thanks for the tip just wondering will you feel the click or will you hear it. also i still have a ticking in the top of my motor. i know it not the timing chain. i read somewhere it might be the injectors or quite possibly the lifters. when i put the timing chain on i also installed a new oil pump could the drive shaft for it and the distibuter be out of time one tooth.

off topic i forgot about putting a timing belt on my '83 vw gti. where is a good spot to find oem body parts or complete jdm s13 nose conversion
