I am searching this forum for answers still, I am having the same problem.I have had my SR20DET in my 89 s13 coupe for a year now and last year before I put my 240 away last year before winter I noticed as the temperature was dropping last fall it got harder and harder to start despite a brand new battery. I changed the water temp sensor (to ECU) but still have the same problem. When it is warm it flashes to life in an instant. This is a stock engine except for the K&N cone filter and free flowing exhaust system.Another ongoing problem I have at all temperatures is intermittent stalling or momentary cut out that usually happens when cornering briskly or when I encounter rough pavement. I have checked all my Soldering and grounds. Aside from these issues it really does run incredibly well with no other driveability issues. Any idea`s?

in response to si2s14 and apex240's first question, it seems like a common problem for many 240s. I dont know about CA, but up here it gets pretty cold and all through the winter, my 240 (sr) doesnt start unless i warm up the garage with a heater first or try multiple cranking (i know, i cringe at this and dont do it often). i know in the fsm there is a list a check list that you should go through. some1 once told me it could b the TPS, but it seems that there can b an issue with the ecu. its called the starter signal i believe and i think it is pin 34 on the ecu. thats an extreme possibility, but its worth the mention. ps. still havnt fixed my prob, because of the cold garage and the flu goin around, i dont feel like getting a cold!!

Yah try the KA Forum =P.... just kidding i have no idea for the KA.

My Sr only starts up cold if i pump the gas peddle up and down while cranking. It starts up very easy once warm or if its warm outside though. I would really like to fix this problem but seems like no one has an answer. I remember someone saying that they had to attach an extra wire to the ECU for cold starts but never saw a update on that thread.

no. they did not HAVE to attach an extra wire, cuz its supposed to be there already and it was missing. they had to replace it because it was missing. i believe its called the starter signal, look @ my other post. the wire sometimes becomes disconnected or it is MIA. its an extreme possibility, and there are many other things to rule out such as TPS and CAS, etc. im goin to check my CAS later so hopefully that fixes it

Update, I would be inclined to think the pin on the ecu is the problem as when I finally got around to remounting the ecu behind the passenger side kick panel it now starts right away regardless of temperature. The random engine cut when cornering hard has also vanished. Thanks for everybody's input.
