I just did a massive tune up.. plugs/wires/cap/rotor/O2 sensor/oil change/ pcv. in hopes it would cure the idle problem

unfortunatly it didnt. my car's idle will drop to almost turning off (sometimes it does) and then climb back up.. and sometimes im required to tap the gas a little to make it putt back up.. then once i sit there for a minute or so, it actually equals out, and starts to idle correctly at about 1100rpms.. ive replaced all ignition components. and im still curious to whats the problem. And this problem happens everytime i go into neutral

how about the aiv, if its not working it will put exhaust into the intake and the maf will register the exhaust as perfectly oxygen rich ari, which it is not. it also only opens at idle so it may be your problem

if the egr was partially open it would most certainly would bring the idle down and depending on how much opening there was it could kill the engine.

The EGR sends exhaust gas in to the intake. Since exhaust gas doesn't burn, it dilutes the air/fuel. This is done on purpose, for various reasons, however, you don't want EGR flow at idle, because it will interfere and cause the idle to drop. Too much flow and it will cause the engine to stall.

When you step on the accelarator you add more air/fuel, so this stops it from stalling. Also, the change in vacuum may be what's reseting the EGR so that it runs ok when you take your foot off.

I'm saying this is definately the problem, but its something to check

When in gear while driving, or when in gear while parked and clutch depressed?

ok for exampledriving to slow down right.. you push in clutch throw in neutral, and apply brakes, well.. as soon as i throw it in neutral, and pull the clutch up, it goes straight down... then slowly idles up.... and if im driving, while in gear, nothing acts up.. no odd issues, it runs like a champ.. only while in neutral, or while holding clutch in.. either time.. it does it

Ok, so does the same thing happen at a stop? Like when you first start the car up?

could the aac cause this?

when you start the car, it is "hard"idling, when it is warmed up, then it is "soft" idling. maby when it goes soft, it doesnt get enough air?

just a guess

Is decelerating the only time you notice the problem? Can you make it happen any other time? I'm wondering now if it is transmision, or computer, related. When you first start up, shift between first and nuetral to see if it does it.

I used to have this problem. Several times actually :*(.

First time it was a sensor, I believe it was o2 sensor or something.

2nd time it was egr valve sensor.

3rd time is was MAF sensor. Actually, it was the connection to the MAF that was dirty and had to be cleaned.

When you turn your car on, I'm assuming it does the same thing (since it's not moving).

Pop open the hood and wiggle the MAF connection around a little and put some gas by turning the throttle. See if that helps at all.
