i was over at my friends house and when it was time to leave i noticed that someone keyd it! i was wondering what i can do/ if there is anything i can do to get rid of it... i felt especially bad for my car so i washed it today and that line on my door really makes me ughhhh!!! i dont have a camera of my own but i'll borrow a friends to take a pic and post in a bit...

Depending on how bad it is, you can use some clear coat cut polish, and "cut" the clear coat. sometimes that will take out shallow scratches.

People who are so cowardly to key a car, deserve to receive a little bit of this...

I'm with Beaner...that is totally f((*ed up...people who key cars, give door dings, bump when parking, etc. should be punished in some fashion. I know people who are anal about everything but they will bump park and slam their doors into anything within reach without so much as a pause to check for damage.

Welcome to the club! My car was egged in my driveway chipped off the clear coat in a nice egg sized circle.A month later someone went off the road into my driveway and crashed into my passenger rear bumper then drove off..

Well atleast when they replaced/repainted the rear bumper they got rid of the marks from the Eggs.

The deductable still cost me $500

I hate people!!

OHHH... and some dumb *** opend his door into mine leaving a BIG *** dent. It cost me $125 for the paintless dent removal on that one.

Sorry to hear that!!!!!When I was in HS and broke, I had saved to have my 69 mach painted and the cancer removed. I took it to Myrtle Beach a couple of months after the new paint job and somebody took a key to the quarter panel....DEEP!!!!!I still get

If the scratch is deep enough that your fingernail goes in the groove those "scratch removers" won't help. This happened to my boy's '07G35x a couple weeks ago and now he has to get it repainted!! It's only door that the guy keyed (and we know who did it but cuz we didn't see him, we can't do anything about it ) but the rear door and front fender have to be blended too...so basically the whole side of his car that he's had for 5 months has to be repainted now.

Years ago had a 924 (actually not that nice of car) and some Ahole keyed it so deep it went to bare metal.A few years later had an old 911 that I parked in a garage. After a movie came out to find it spat on and covered in mustard.

I can't even imagine what I'd do if I found my G, which cost me more than the other 2 cars combined, all scratched up.

Some people are such freaking scum bags and can't let anyone else have something nice. Burns me up.

my new 07 has a new key mark. i dont live near anyone i know anymore so it was not an enemy, not sure that i have any. but its pretty deep. i just have to live with it because its atl east a grand to fix i would assume. you would have to paint the entire door and blend it ino the the rear quarter. it really sucks that people would do this. i feel for you!

i guess i'll buy some Quixx tomorrow too and try it out and follow it up with washing and waxing. i doubt it'll remove everything but i hope it does. i'll post pics afterwards either praising Quixx or still angry at whoever keyed my car.

I will try to buy that thing too, My Car got Keyed, what i don't know where or when ....cause last night i was at my Friend Marilin's house and in one of those apartment building with reserve parking for the renters, i did not know about that so i parked my car in somebody's places, I was walking to my car and the car of the girl who own the place was right behind my car so i said so to my friend and she Fortunately know the Girl, I Said Sorry to her and Thank Her for be kind leaving her house and let me took my car out of the parking lot, i got home at 9 PM, I noted nothing, but today after i came from work i went to a park close home and after be walking around i Noted the Scratches 5 of them....I Said "WTF" My Nissal Altama 98 has been Keyed, over the Trunk, Why ???

Really really i don't know if the author of this was the Last Night Girl, Somebody at my Work or maybe At the Park....What i know is that i don't like to see my car in that way.

It never happened to me but I know I would lose it quick. So lets hope I won't ever get one and if I got one I won't see the guy doing it. I would probably end up hitting his head in the asphalt.

As bad as it sounds, just chill and see what you can do about it. It could have been worse....for instance, what happened to me could have happened to you:

Some punk in a chrysler or something wanted to race one night. After toasting him, I went on my way and headed to my destination. Apparently he was still on the same street as me, and began shooting my car with a BB gun. You've never seen a man drive so crazy as when I was trying to protect my G. The only enjoyable part of the night was driving like you're in an action movie and feeling justified to do so. To finally lose the guy I drifted into a 90 degree left turn, from the right lane. Got out with two BB shaped dents, not to mention a dime size chip in the paint at both dents. Estimated cost: $650.

No wait! It gets worse!! You're probably thinking "how in fu#$s sake can it get any worse?". About a month later I was driving my girl home from the airport, and someone hiding in a bush on the side of the street, SHOT THE CAR AGAIN! I was never so angry in my entire life. Girlfriend refused to let me turn around and chase them down Estimated cost: $300

So 3 BB's cost me $1000. I hate orlando

You can buy products that will 'hide' scratches.. but you have to keep reapplying. If your fingernail doesn't catch in the scratch, you can polish it out with the right polishing compound and tools. but do some research.

If you can feel the scratch, I'd get a pro to work it. Someone in a good detail shop can take it out, but you'll have to shop around and a good place will charge you some $$$, but it will be worth it.

Me, I'd polish it myself.. I've taken out a lot of scratches...

but my 2005 G35 coupe had limbs dropped on it when the lawn crew trimmed some of the neighbors overgrown shrubbery. It was $1300 to get it fixed, but it was painted and the lawn crew paid for it.. though it took several calls ending up with the owner.
