I've changed the oil, spark plugs, fuel filter, but the problem doesn't seem to go away. when the car reaches 2300 rpms the car starts bogging like if it had no gas. my friends think it might be the fuel pump or the MAF sensor. does any one know what it could be.

check your ECU, more than likely it's the MAF

Sounds like the car is running in "safemode".. When there is something wrong it wont go past 2100 or 2300k

Check the maf like easymmmkay said

check your ECU to see if it's throwing any codes. More than likely it's a maf, but to be on the safeside, i'd check the ECU

That's the symptoms from my auto when the MAF went out, but then again I replaced the MAF when my 5sp gave me the code 12 and it didnt do any good. The ECU was the prob the second time. Now I have 2 extra working MAF's. Email me at [email protected] if you need one of em. Name your price.

Just realized you have an s14, my MAFS won't work. But still check ECU and MAFS. Check the wires on the harness, there should be a ground, a wire with somewhere near 14 volts, and the wire going to the ECU. I think it should be around 1.2 volts at idle.

the fuel pump wouldn't be causing these symptoms?

nope... like everyone else on this board... check MAF/ electrical plug to it... the ECU should also set a trouble code if you unplugged your MAF lately...

then it might be your ECU.... If when you reset the ECU it didn't have the problem, and then the problem came back a few hours later... Just my thoughts....

Check all the connectors/wires for the MAF. Something may be corroded or you have a dirty/loose connection.
