Car doesn't accelerate when gas pedal is pressed and fuel lo

Hey guys

Rogue 2012 here with 30,000 miles.
I've been having a weird problem lately which has been happening when I have about 40-30 miles left of fuel. There's been instances while cruising where I hit the gas to accelerate and the engine has not been responsive. Rpms would just start going down and I have to let go of the pedal and press again. Dealer didn't find any issues and changed the CVT fluid during the 30k maintenance as a precaution however the same thing has happened. Any ideas?
