I just replaced my battery in my car 2003 Maxiam and recently I have been having some problems. I will be driving dosent matter what speed and out of no ware I will have no throttle response the motor stays running and all the lights stay on and the little battery light comes on the dash. I will have to pull over and wait until the light goes off and then I have throttle response. I have checked all connections and they are nice and tight. I am at a loss any help would be greatly appreciated. This does not happen all the time either once twice a week but I would like to know what causing this, the car has 106,000 miles on it

That's right. A classic symptom of a 'dying' alternator. Crazy things do happen when the alternator is on the way out. Check the battery voltage with the engine running. It should be 13.8VDC or higher if the alternator is charging the battery correctly. I can't recall the upper limit. If the alternator is bad, the battery voltage *engine OFF) will also be lower than a fully charged voltage of 12.6VDC (for new/good battery)

b15Philly - what did you find your problem to be? I'm having a very similiar problem and already suspected the alternator. Would like to hear your findings though..

If you have the same exact problem, then it's the alternator or the battery-alternator wiring (loose connection/corrosion/partial short).
