car dies when stopped????

93 KA-T vert with 5 speed. For some reason as of late my car will not idle while stopped, it seemed strange to me at first because it will idle in neutral while the car is moving but the second I stop at a light or in my driveway it instantly dies. I will be doing a tune up and change out my fuel filter today, but I'm quite confused as to what could be causing this, not much makes sense to me. any help would be appreciated.
